Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 11, 2026

1. Who We Are

This policy applies to the Study Master 2018 website (www.studymaster2018.com) and the Study Master 2018 Android mobile app (together, the "Service"). It explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email us at helpstudymaster2018@gmail.com.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information — your name, email address and (if you sign in with Google) your Google profile picture. If you register with a password, it is stored in hashed form only.
  • Study activity — the questions you attempt, quiz and test results, study progress, bookmarks, notes, highlights, revision schedules, habits, to-dos, timetables and focus sessions, so the Service can track your preparation and personalize features.
  • Payment information — when you purchase a subscription on our website, our payment processor Razorpay handles the transaction. We store the order ID, payment ID, amount and subscription status. We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN or banking credentials.
  • Device and notification data — if you enable notifications in the Android app, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token so we can send you study reminders.
  • Usage data — pages visited and approximate usage patterns for analytics. IP addresses used for visit analytics are stored in hashed (anonymized) form.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to provide and improve the Service: to sign you in, save and sync your study progress across devices, deliver the content and features you use, process subscription payments, send notifications you have enabled, respond to support requests, and understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Google Sign-In — for authentication (governed by Google's Privacy Policy).
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — for push notifications in the Android app.
  • Razorpay — for payment processing on the website (governed by Razorpay's Privacy Policy).

These providers receive only the data needed to perform their function.

5. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit). Passwords are hashed, sessions use secure tokens, and access to production data is restricted. However, no security system is impenetrable and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Cookies

The website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to collect information about your activity, browser, and device. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. The Android app uses secure on-device storage instead of cookies.

7. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated personal data at any time:

Deletion removes your account, study activity, bookmarks, notes, notifications and device tokens. Payment records are retained where required for financial and tax compliance, but are no longer linked to a usable account.

8. Children

The Service is intended for exam aspirants and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above, and continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
